Ghost, Lizard Men, and Art... oh my

A few weeks ago my paranormal investigation teams facebook page went up. You can check it out here  We did a open investigation at the Belvoir Winery and are currently trying to find ways to share all our findings with everyone. We also have prints that we are currently looking at making to promote our team. The idea is that if you come investigate with us we will be giving out one of these limited edition print. We are hoping to tie art community into the paranormal investigating world. It will be a unique adventure and I hope you follow along with it.
I have also began what i hope is the first of a series of anthropomorphic portraits were I take a photograph of a person and try to make a animal portrait that embodies their character. This picture is the start of a Crocodile that I am doing based of a photo of me. It is my hope is that when this is completed I can start another, and then another until I have enough to make a book. I don't know if people would be interested in this or not. If   not then I get a lot of practice with character design and animals. Either way it is a win win for me.

Well to start off I recently attended the artist as a brand workshop that was a few days before the Spectrum live event that happened here in Kansas City. The workshop was held by Greg Spalenka and was full of great information. and helped me define what my vision for my artistic future is. I attended the class with some great artists and it was a true inspiration to meet all of them. The other people in the class were Alex Ruiz from California, David Frizell- Kansas, Tyler Davis-Utah,  Sue Cornelison and Paul Micich- Iowa, John Wagenman- Texas, Tara Chang- Washington, Sean Fitzgibbon- Arkansas,  and Julio Morales from here in Kansas city Missouri. If you get a chance you should check out what these artists are doing. It was a great exuberance and I recommend this workshop to anyone who has a opportunity to take. It is full of great marketing information and puts a lot of resources at your disposal.

I also spent all day painting since i had a rare day off. I decided since I don't normally do environmental scenes I would give it a go. It actually did not turn out 2 bad. It is not complete but I wanted to share, because as I said before, I don't paint enlistments on a regular basis.

Sky Crawler

My entry for the new creature planet on cghub.com. The creature's name is the sky crawler and the only restrictions were we could not use wings as a way of making the creature fly.

Portrait update

More work on the portrait. Almost done, but have a few more touches here and there. Used overlay layers to increase depth. I also added the shadow on the hand to show the light pushing through the hair.
